How to build gcc-2.95.3 for BeOS: cd into the buildtools/legacy folder (where this file lives) compile binutils: mkdir binutils-obj cd binutils-obj CFLAGS="-O2" CXXFLAGS="-O2" ../binutils/configure --prefix=/boot/develop/tools/gnupro --disable-nls --enable-shared=yes make cd .. compile gcc: mkdir gcc-obj cd gcc-obj CFLAGS="-O2" CXXFLAGS="-O2" ../gcc/configure --prefix=/boot/develop/tools/gnupro --disable-nls --enable-shared=yes --enable-languages=c,c++ make bootstrap cd .. Ok, now everything is compiled and ready, waiting to be installed: mv /boot/develop/tools/gnupro /boot/develop/tools/gnupro_... mkdir /boot/develop/tools/gcc-2.95.3_binutils-2.15 ln -s /boot/develop/tools/gcc-2.95.3_binutils-2.15 /boot/develop/tools/gnupro cd binutils-obj make install cd .. cd gcc-obj make install cd .. That's it, gcc-2.95.3 and binutils-2.15 are now installed and active. For the installation, you'll need the following tools/libraries to be installed: autoconf automake You'll find these in the GNU packages on BeBits (http://www.bebits.com/app/2971). So have fun!
