As many Australians know, these machines plus the original beebs were prolific in Australian public and private (mainly Catholic) primary and high schools.
And thus I have a confession to make. I helped load hundreds of these and the beebs into skips for recycling (destination unknown) in about 1994-5 as schools transitioned to Macs or X86 clones.
At that time I had gone from C6 to Amiga and then to a 386 and didn''t see to keep one of these around (even though I was kinda fond of them having used them as a student myself). All that I kept was an Archimedes, which were briefly adopted in some places.
Sorry, aficionados!

text: Hi I recently purchased a BBC compact to go with my 4 BBC B machines I also have an electron, plus an A3000, I have yet to purchase a B+ and Master 128 but the compact is rare and compliments the collection, I find there is nothing wrong with it and had fun discovering the differences to the Beeb, does anyone know what the edge connector is for?

text: Gosh this site brings back memories. I had one of these back in ''86. It really was the biggest waste of space. There were only about 2 software titles sold on 3.5" disc at the time (the BBC B mainly used 5.25"), and of course there was no internet or LAN in my parents house! If i wanted it to do anything i had to program it myself. It was a bit much watching my friends play cool games on their Amigas while i was forced to write my own games that resembled those of the Spectrum age. In the end (much to my shame) in about 1989 i smashed it to bits with a hammer. I hated the bloody thing!
