The model shown is a BASF7120$ my father was chief developer on this system at BASF in Ludwigshafen$ we had one of these computers at home.
The computer was based on a DigiLog (USA) Personal Computer, which had an additional printer built in (the paper came out on the top), but was to faulty to be sold (power supply, monitor control, mechanical construction and more.).
The operating system was an "Enhanced commercial BASIC" interpreter and/or an Assembler\
Later on, a CP/M version was released\
The official price was 16.000 DM\
The CPU frequency was 4.000 MHz\
The memory was 64 kByte + FDC (don''t know how much RAM was impemented there)\
The production ended 1987, after a press release of the "SPIEGEL" magazine and legal trials claimed that due to the lack of a Parity Bit in the Memory, the computer was too unsafe for serious applications.\
(However, in almost 10 years of use and programming of that computer I personally never experienced any(!) accidental data alteration).
It had 2 CPUs (Z80A) which were able to operate independently$ some programs used it for parallel processing(!).\
One of them was part of the FDC (Floppy Disk Control), the upper of the three PCBs which were found inside.
Ports: It had a Centronics parallel port and a V.24 / RS232 port at the back.
The rocker switches on the right side of the keyboard were used to preset programs (rarely used), as well as the switch banks (DIL-Switches) on the rear side of the computer.
If you are interested in more information, please feel free to contact me.

I acquired the 7130 version of this computer built in 1982.\
It seems like this one was a special version with a hard disk on it.\
It was used to bookkeeping for a winery, i acquired it with an AZERTY French keyboard in the south of France.\
It has a ''pattent pending'' hard disk controller, morst boards are by digi-logic, they keyboard is by Key-tronic corp.\
And yes, also my cataract, which will be taken care of soon

text: This particular model in the image, as well as some other computer images I have seen on the site - have screens that have developed "cataracts." For those of you with older computers, google CRT cataracts. It''s actually pretty easy to repair. -Shane 1/14/11
