With pix (french) comments: - author: Dietmar Belloff (Germany) date: Monday 21st May 2007 text: This is a nice site with great work! As an longtime Oric-User and being in the know of some details I have to correct the Name of the DOS used by the Oric Telestrat Computer. It is not named StradSED but SEDOric and was available for the old Orics as an addon as well. Furheron, the Telestrat was identical to the Atmos in ROM (V1.1). I could state this since I played with it at Frankfurt Home Comuter Fair in 1985 and its got the same HIRES command bug as Oric-1 and Atmos inside. One of the developers was not amused as he saw me discovering this bug:) oc_id: 235 source: url: https://web.archive.org/web/20230528093011/http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?c=235 date: '2023-05-28' --- The Oric Telestrat is the successor of the [Oric 1](/museum/oric-1/) and [Oric Atmos](/museum/oric-atmos/) with which it is compatible. It was launched some months after Oric was bought by Euréka, a French company in 1985. It was designed especially for telecommunications, like the [Goupil 2](/museum/smt-goupil-2/), the [Thomson TO-9+](/museum/thomson-to-9-plus/) or the [Exeltel](/museum/exelvision-exeltel/). It was designed to be used with the Minitel (French videotext terminal): it has a special ROM (8 KB) enabling the Telestrat to act as a videotext server. A 3" floppy disk drive was available (400 KB) which run under StradSED (the Oric operating system, compatible with the old Oric DOS). Several ROM cartridges were developed for this machine: Midi software (unreleased), Hyper Basic (compiled basic), Telematic Basic (designed for telecommunications), etc...
