ICE JOYSTICK INTERFACE ICE Felix made several peripherals for its HC series, among them:\ • this joystick interface,\ • A Sinclair comptatible joystick,\ • A tape recorder\ • And even an optical pen. The joystick interface is Sinclair Kempston compatible; it uses port 1 of the computer. The jack is used to plug in an optical pen. Thanks to **Grecu Cristi** /media/museum/hardware/felix_hc85_joyinterf_s1.jpg

ICE TAPE RECORDER The mecanical part of this tape recorder looks strongly "inspired" with the one from Spectrum +2. Thanks to **Grecu Cristi** /media/museum/hardware/felix_hc85_cassetterec_s1.jpg

ICE LIGHT PEN The light pen is a very simple device, containing a photodiode. It is connected to the jack of the joystick interface. When the electron beam is crossing the area of the screen where the light pen is positionend, it sends a signal to the interface, that resets bit 1 of port 191 of the HC. constantin negut (Bucharest) Saturday 21st January 2017 Pentru Stefan Marianescu :\ 1.

The HC-2000 was an upgraded version of the HC-91+. It was also compatible with the Sinclair Spectrum but could run as well the CP/M operating system and all its associated software.

It was actually an HC-91 with internal disk interface and 3.5" floppy disk drive. Major hardware differences were a white larger case housing the floppy drive, and 64 KB of RAM of which 48 KB were available in Spectrum mode, and 56 KB in CP/M mode.

There were two versions of the HC-2000, with or without built-in floppy disk drive.

Two 32 KB ROM chips were used. First one held the Spectrum BASIC, second the CP/M O.S. and IF1 disk interface.

The ROM also held specific commands to manage the diskettes (FORMAT, CAT, LOAD, SAVE, VERIFY, ERASE), as well as a RANDOMIZE USR 14446 which allowed to load the CP/M OS. At boot-up, a simple RUN command loaded and ran a 'Run' program (ancestor of MS-DOS 'Autorun') on the diskette.

The HC-2000 was the last home computer produced by ICE Felix. A business version version was later produced, it had approximately the same case design but featured a 386SX-25 or 33 MHz and built-in 1 MB RAM and VGA interface.

ICE means means Intreprinderea de Calculatoare Electronice (Electronic Computers Factory), and HC meant Home Computer. The company still have a Web site.
