| ATARI UNIVERSAL MODEM |
|
The SX212 modem was one of the rare Atari peripherals that could be used with all the Atari computers range, from the 400/800 series up to the Falcon. It had both the Atari I/O ports for the 8-bit systems and a standard RS-232 connector for ST's
It was a 300/1200 baud modem compatible with the well-known Hayes 'AT' commands.\
Cable and software was sold separately, depending of the computer used. |

| SML-804 |
Laser printer |
The SLM-804 was actually a Kyocera F1000 printer but without neither on-board processor and memory nor buttons other than the on/off switch. It was first delivered with the Mega ST but could be connected on all of the ST series computers through a dedicated interface box.\
The printer used the processing power and the RAM memory of the ST computer for printing at 8 pages per minute and 300 DPI. The paper tray held 250 sheets.
Thanks to **Francois Michaud** who donated us this printer. |

The machine itself is just a regular STe with 4 1MB Simms, which although expensive at the time, were quite commonplace.
The badges can be bought from eBay, so seeing one of these machine for sale is no guarantee that you are getting a ''Genuine'' developer example. |

The 4160STE was an actual machine produced by Atari, but it wasn''t sold to the public as such. It was a developer machine. That being said, it was nothing more than a standard 520 or 1040STE upgraded to 4MB. Atari also made the case badges available to the public for those that had upgraded their machines. I purchased a NOS 4160STE case badge for my 520STE that was upgraded to 4MB. |

I own 2x 4160STEs, but as for provenance, they have none, since they have been assembled from parts bought from eBay and other sources. As has been said, a 4160STE is just a 520STE with 4MB RAM. You can even still buy original, NOS 4160STE case badges, so unless you have documentation that proves it to be something special, I wouldn''t take it as read that it''s anything other than an upgraded STE. |

I own an origianl Atari 4160 STf Engineering Sample!
An 4160 STe never exists and is never sold in the World! Only the Type Stickers exists and were sold separately over the World!
Atari decide to produce only the Mega ST 1, 2 and 4 und the following Mega STe 1, 2 and 4!
So the 4160 STf is the only existing 1040 like ST with 4 Mb Ram on Board!

The information displayed here is false. The 4160STE was sold in Europe and was not a developer only machine. Badges that say 4160STE on them can also be bought from a few retailers that still sell Atari related products so all you have to do is open any 520STE or 1040STE, upgrade it to 4 megs of RAM and change the badging to say 4160STE and voila! You are now the proud owner of a super rare "developer only" machine. |
