Peter Haagerup (Denmark) Tuesday 6th August 2013 We have made the website http://rc700.dk dedicated to the RC759 PICCOLINE and RC750 Partner. On this website, one can download manuals and disk images, and an emulator for the system is also available. New information is frequently added. We are very interested in getting more software and user manuals. If you have anything you think could contribute to the site, please let us know - we have the equipment to read floppy disks compatible with those systems, and try to rescue as much software as possible. See the Software section on the website for more information.

Jes Jensen Tuesday 10th April 2012 When i was in "gymnasium" in denmark we upgraded the old picolo, to these new fine piccoline. In our configuration there were at the beginning 4 picoline connected to 1 piccoline with floppy disk, later on all computers were connected into a network with a server called PARTNER (a grown up piccoline) with a 12 mb harddrive (I think i can remember) - those were the days.

Ulrik Hansen (Copenhagen, Denmark) Thursday 22nd April 2010 I also remember this one from primary school back in the eighties. They seemed so serious compared to the C64s and ZX Spectrums common at home. I only recently found out they were made by Regnecentralen.

Daniel Nielsen (Malmö, Sweden) Thursday 22nd November 2007 This is the first computer I sat and "worked" with. I think it must have been back in 1987 (1st grade and me being 7 years old).\ At my school (Aavangsskolen on Bornholm) we had a room with two "islands" of these machines, as far as I can remember it was a terminal system, one would have disc-drives (5.25") in which we would load a disc, and then all the machines would load. giving us opportunity to play different games. There was one turn button for the brightness of the screen (in outmost position it switched off) and one dial button for sound.\ I remember a "happy" sound for correct answers in teh games and a "not so happy" sound when incorrect.\ I think we used them for 2-3 years untill the room was upgraded to 286 PC's running Windows 3.1 at 12 and 25 Mhz, I might be wrong about this.

Lars (Greve, Denmark) Friday 10th February 2006 I remember going to Solroed Gymnasium (high school) back in 1994 or 95, where the school upgraded their PC room. They took out all the old picolines, and proceeded to smash them to bits, with big hammers in front of all the students who applauded this act. Except me... I felt sorry for the old machines...

The Piccoline is a direct descendant of the Piccolo, and was launched in 1984.

It was more or less strictly meant for Danish educational institutions such as schools, high schools and universities. It was used extensively for teaching basic programming skills, using the languages Comal 80 and Pascal.

Thanks to Henrik Schmidt from Denmark for information and pictures.

We need more info about this computer ! If you designed, used, or have more info about this system, please send us pictures or anything you might find useful.
